My dear Tommy:
I am enclosing the statement of your accounts up to date, as requested. The last statement I sent you on March 7th showed total receipts of $1864.64; total expenditures, $1420.90. These amounts included the $700. loan which I had been obliged to make from the local bank.
As the situation now stands there is actual cash on hand to the amount of $[illegible amount]. Against this is the loan, which is still unpaid so that actually there is an indebtedness of $621.94 to be made up before the account can be squared. I hope you will be able to get the situation cleared in the near future so that you can make a fresh start.
Faithfully yours,
