Mr. James Morgan,
Lawrence, Mass.
My dear Sir:
I am very sorry to have to advise you that James's work has been so utterly bad of late that we have felt it necessary to require his immediate withdrawal from the school at this time, I think you will appreciate that we have done everything in our power to persuade your boy to exert himself and to meet our requirements in a satisfactory way. Our efforts have borne no fruit to all appearances, and as the boy’s further stay here would result in no benefit to himself, and would be distinctly demoralizing to the work of our classes in general, we are compelled to ask him to withdraw at this time.
Assuring you of my deep regret that we have not been able to accomplish more satisfactory results in your son’s case, believe me.
Very truly yours
