My dear Mrs. Pope:
On my return to Andover I find your letter of recent date. Wong came to see me several days ago to tell me that he had decided to enter Purdue University, and to ask to have a copy of his record sent to that institution. I complied with his request, and deeply as I regret the seeming failure which the boy made here. I am hopeful that under other surroundings and with the rent of the family across the xxx, the good blood that is in the boy will come to the front and central his future work and destiny. Wong’s career here has been one of the biggest disappointments I have ever had.
