My Dear Dr. Stearns: - On returning after an absence of a few days, I find your letter of the 24th, enclosing letter of introduction to Sir Chentung Liang Cheng, and I wish to thank you for it and for the way in which you have done it.
I am afraid that my opportunities for showing my friendship for Phillips Academy have been rather meagre, but my all too slight acquaintance with you, and my more intimate association with Mr. Stratton have led me to feel a particular interest in the old institution .and I hope with the increasing prosperity of Sub-Target to have the privilege someday of substantially showing my interest therein.
With assurances of my personal regard .believe me,
Very sincerely yours,
