Prin. J.H.Pillsbury
Waban School
Waban, Mass.

My dear Mr.Pillsbury:

Thank you for your letter of the 22nd inst. I had assumed that Fayuen would spend his vacation in Boston, as the Chinese boys are regularly accustomed to do. I had given him no special orders or instructions, but no doubt he very naturally assumed that he had the necessary permission from me. On the other hand, I do not, of course, approve of any action on his part that runs contrary to his agreements with you.

I enclose check herewith for the second payment his tuition amounting to $175.00 as per bill rendered.

Very truly yours.
