My dear Mr. Sun:
I have your letter asking about another suit of clothes. I understand from both my brother and Mr. Alexander that you have a summer suit made you recently, and as the summer is so nearly over it does not seem to me wise or necessary for you to buy an additional suit at this time. Mr. Tong has specially urged me to see that you boys were very careful in your expenditures. I am making this recommendation, therefore, on the basis of Mr.Tong’s request, as well as on the basis of what our other Chinese boys regularly accustomed to have.
Very sincerely yours,
