Description

Handwritten letter from Tsai Ting Kan to Dr. Alfred E. Stearns about the education of his children in America. States he doesn't need filed receipts for expenditures. Asks Stearns to update the children on their finances as needed. Prefers Helen not go to college and focus on mastering English so she can make a living teaching and writing English. Asks that French, music, and typewriter instruction be included as well. Wishes to save time and expense as he has 6 other children though if there is a way for Helen to attend college with minimal cost and trouble, he is willing. Wants Helen to attend a school with a wholesome atmosphere with cultural and intellectual influences. Trusts Stearns judgment in finding the school. Sent money to Stearns and is expecting a wire to acknowledge receipt. Expresses gratitude for Stearns' care of his children.
