Mr. Alfred Stearns,
Phillips Academy, Andover. Mass., U. S. A.

Dear Mr. Stearns:

I take pleasure to introduce to you Mr. Kung Yuen Tu, Son of Admiral Tu, Commander-in-chief, of the Chinese Navy, who is going to study in America in order to acquaint himself with the Western ideas and ideals.

It has always been my opinion, not because I myself has been an Andover student, that Phillip Andover is the best place for a young man to prepare for college. There one can learn the real American democracy and the fine points of the American culture.

It would be very nice if you could arrange for Mr. Tu to stay with some refine American family so as to give him the opportunity to acquaint himself with the Western etiquette and customs.

I assure you that whatever you do for Mr. Tu will be highly appreciated by me.

I wish also to avail myself of this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for the kindness and hospitality you have been extending to my brother-in-law, Mr. H. C. Chan.

Thanking you again and wishing you the best of success,

I remain,

Yours faithfully,
