Daab of High Street in New Haven a letter in which she encloses a bill amounting to $43.46 which she has carefully itemized and which she maintains you contracted with her for board last year. According to the bill you owe her for board from October 28th to December 11th. She admits having received last November from me a check for $16.40 covering board from October 12th to October 28th. She says, however, that she has not been able to get the balance. On looking up your accounts I find that board was regularly paid by me to a Mrs. Shea covering the period which Mrs. Daab specifies on her bill. Indeed I am even wondering if the mistake was not made when I paid Mrs. Daab the $16.40 in question. I had your O.K. on the bill, however, and supposed it was all right.
