February 9. 1925. Dr. Alfred E. Stearns Phillips Academy Andover, Mass Dear Dr. Stearns: Mr. Tsai returned to Mt.Vernon yesterday. I made a thorough study of his condition and found that his stomach symptoms were due entirely to the disturbed state of his nervous system. I will be able to send you a detailed report in a few days. He is a very nice boy and of high character. He evidently does not learn easily. He is frank and honest and recognizes his own short-comings. His fundamental education in China seems to have been faulty. I hope that the instruction given him regarding nervous control will prove helpful. I had my associate, Dr. MacPherson, who is an able neuro-psychiatrist, study the boy’s personality and I think his detailed report which you will find with my notes will interest you especially.
