I have replied that I am doing everything that I can to secure from you information which will straighten out the tangle, but that I am not willing to pay a bill which seemingly has already been paid to another person until I know what is wrong. You have ignored my earlier letter, and I must ask you to reply promptly and clearly to this one. The situation is certainly unusual, and it ought to be straightened out at once. Mrs. Daab claims that you boarded with her during the fall term last year, and she has rendered me a bill for board from October 28th to December 11th. She tells me that she has absolute proof that you were with her during that period and can refer me to reliable references to prove her contention. The records show that I paid her a bill covering the first week or two of that period, after said bill had been O.K.'d by you, but that for the balance of the term bills were paid regularly to Mrs. Shea for board.
