Sir: There is pending decision before this office application placed by CHAM (CHIS) HIM CHEUNG for indorsement as a native of the United States, claiming "birth in San Francisco, Calif., in March of 1906. The said CBM HU CHEUNG appears to have entered Phillips Academy as a student during December, 1922, or in the early part of 1923, and continued in attendance there for about two and one-half years, proceeding then to Hamilton College, Clinton, N.T., in which institution he is registered as a senior pupil under the name of HIN CHEUNG CHAN. Such records as we hold relating to CHAN HIN CHEUNG show him on at least three occasions to have testified under oath to birth in China during March of 1906. The names which he gives for his parents are at great variance with those which he has heretofore given, all of which must be regarded as indicative of a false claim in the present instance.
