I got your check for Theodora mailed from the Home camp day before yesterday and also a check in settlement of Alfred Tsai's account this morning.

After the strenuous work at the Anniversary and the period of sustained dignity that goes with entertaining the President, and receiving so important a degree, it must have been a relief to get up into North Amerikee and swap a few fish yarns with Grant Covell.

In regard to Alfred Tsai’s account, we have been giving him, according to your suggestion, a regular weekly allowance of one dollar. This is entered as cash on the bill. Occasionally Alfred has asked for extra money for the purchase of some little item of clothing etc. Whenever the request has seemed necessary or reasonable I have increased the amount of the weekly allowance to cover it. This accounts for all the items marked "cash" on his bill.

Much love</text>

In accordance with your request a catalogue was sent you yesterday. There were lacking from it the Music Department leaflet, which is in the hands of the printers and which we hope to have in a few days, and also the Calendar. The fall term opens September 24th.

I shall be very glad to answer any questions which come to mind after seeing the catalogue. I should also be glad to have the school record that we may be able to better place Helen in her class. I should welcome any suggestions concerning her course of study.

I hope that you may be able to visit Saint Mary’s, either during summer or at the opening of school in the fall.

Very sincerely,

                <text>My dear Miss Antony,

I enclose the signed legal agreements required by your school for my ward Helen Tsai. It is customary for the Chinese students in this country to take American first names while they are here but I have given also Miss Tsai's full Chinese name for proper record.	,

if it is possible I shall bring Miss Tsai to you when school opens in the fall and chiefly in order to talk over with you in person her course of study. Miss Tsai's father, unlike most Chinese father's, does not seem to be impressed with the importance of an American college degree for his daughter but desires above everything else that, she should have a good and broad general education and secure the best that America can give her in the way of cultural and character influences. It is for this reason that I have been influenced to select Saint Mary's School for Miss Tsai.

During the past twenty five years I had over fifty Chinese students as my special wards and I have found Miss Tsai about the most satisfactory and appealing one of them all. I am sure that you will like her and I shall be greatly surprised if you do not find her responsive to the best that Saint Mary’s has to offer and in every way a desirable member of your school community.

Very sincerely yours,</text>
